National Historic Ships UK Administrative Officer

£16,913 per annum


Operating from Royal Museums Greenwich, National Historic Ships - UK (NHS - UK) acts as the primary source of objective advice to the government and Heritage Lottery Fund on historic ship preservation and funding priorities. As the principal national focus for all matters relating to ship preservation, it also provides expert and informed advice to a range of organisations.

As Administrative Officer, you will act as first point of public contact and provide initial responses to requests for advice and services. Working as part of a small team of staff and volunteers you will coordinate appointments and diaries as well providing support in meetings and day to day office administration.

In all of this, you will be part of an organisation that champions the value of the historic ship sector for the conservation and interpretation of our national heritage, as well as the economic regeneration, social development, education and learning opportunities that it brings.

With strong interpersonal and literacy skills, you will need to be computer literate with Microsoft Office and social media skills. Being a team player is essential, as are strong organizational skill and administrative capability. Meticulous attention to detail and the ability and flexibility to meet tight deadlines co-operatively is also key. You will also have an interest in maritime heritage and conservation or be keen to develop this knowledge.
