AIM's Economic Value Toolkit

16 January 2012

AIM, The Association for Independent Museums, has a toolkit on enabling museums and heritage sites to calculate their value to the local economy.

They say ‘It’s proving really useful in enabling members to calculate their own value in their own local area, providing a potent advocacy tool and enabling them to make their case to economic and tourism stakeholders.’  The toolkit has three levels: tourism impacts, employment impacts and impacts of spend on goods and services.   http://www.aim-museums.co.uk/pages/pg-18-aim-economic-impact-paper/.

This will be relevant for vessels owned by Museums and also those operating as a tourist attraction in their own right.

If you have been asked to complete the assessment, please share the results with us so that we can publicise these on your behalf.  Please get in touch with us via email: info@nationalhistoricships.org.uk.
