Dunkirk Little Ships: BBC 2 Programme
To mark the 70th anniversary of the Dunkirk evacuation, fifty of the surviving ‘Little Ships' which made the original cross-channel voyage, are returning to France. Dan Snow will present a BBC 2 programme, telling the extraordinary story of these Little Ships, their role in the evacuation, the people who struggle to keep them afloat today and of those days in 1940, when the future of Europe hung in the balance.
National Historic Ships has been asked by the BBC to assist in their seach for survivors from the Royal and Merchant Navy, the Army or the general public who made the crossing to Dunkirk as Captain or crew on one of the Little Ships. The BBC has already contacted the Association of Dunkirk Little Ships and is working closely with vessel owners. However, if you know of any crew members still alive, they are keen to hear from you.
