Mirosa

1 February 2010

Mirosa, built as a stack barge in 1892, is one of the last engineless sailing craft still earning her living under sail. She has always had flax sails, her mainsail is now 15 years old and worn out, and so, to keep her sailing, she needs a new one.

Does any one know of a supply of old stock Royal Navy Specification Number One or Number Two Flax? Mirosa requires approximately 350 metres. Can you help?

If you can help, please contact Peter Dodds at: office@ironwharfboatyard.fsnet.co.uk or 07831 328382.
