National Historic Ships First Annual Report (April 2006 - March 2007)

First Annual Report (April 2006 - March 2007)

National Historic Ships First Annual Report can now be viewed online, detailing the daily work of the Committee and Staff, priorities and targets and the highlights of the period April 2006-March 2007.

During this time, a number of key initiatives have been launched, foremost of which is the grant aid programme offering sustainability grants for vessels, as well as conference and training bursaries, all channelled through the Strategic Development Fund.

The Report reflects the growth of National Historic Ships as a dynamic organisation, able to advise and intervene with key issues affecting historic vessels in the UK.  It outlines some exciting plans including a skills and infrastructure audit, a national ship preservation network and a series of publications which will set the standards for recording, conserving and deconstructing historic vessels.  National Historic Ships has taken on a key leadership role in its first twelve months, meeting a growing demand for support with limited resources.
