History

DORANA was built in 1939 as a Leigh Cockle Bawley by Drake Brothers (Tollesbury)Limited and is a vessel of pitch pine construction with a BMC diesel engine.

She started fishing in 1939 and fished untill 1956 then had a cabin top installed for leisure use then lost history untill 1990 when extensive works were carried out including removing lifting keel and replacing with full length keel made of jarro wood adding two feet two original draft historical inportance due to being only one of four leigh cockle bawleys left from the fishing fleet in the thames area
