Each year over 200,000 people attend the festival to enjoy miles of entertainment along the city’s Harbourside including live music, circus performances, food markets, theatre, dance and on-the-water displays.
The festival’s ethos is to celebrate, with all of Bristol’s communities, the heart and soul of the city in the unique setting of the Harbour.
Showcasing Bristol’s vast maritime heritage, the historic floating harbour takes pride of place during the weekend to celebrate its rich history with all the free, family-friendly activity programmed on the water’s edge.
Bristol Harbour Festival is the city’s flagship family and cultural event showcasing Bristol’s talent and heritage to promote the city as an attractive place to live or visit, boost the local economy and showcase it’s accessibility to diverse communities. Having launched in 1971 it remains a free event to this day.
