East Durham Heritage Group & restored lifeboat George Elmy

Location: East Durham Heritage & Lifeboat Centre, Seaham Harbour Marina, Seaham, County Durham, SR7 7EE

Visitors are able to peruse our photographic and document archive relating to the heritage of the Seaham area and view the restored lifeboat the Liverpool class George Elmy that tragically wrecked in November 1962.

The Heritage Centre will hold an exhibition of photographs and artefacts relating to the Industrial, Maritime and Social heritage of the East Durham area but particularly Seaham. The Lifeboat house is the home of the restored George Elmy that was completed in 2013, there be an exhibition of Seaham's lifeboat heritage.
