Celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Steamboat Association of Great Britain with a display of over 50 historic steamboats on Windermere.
The Steam Boat Association of Great Britain was formed in 1971 to promote the enjoyment of steamboats and steamboating - and to represent the interests of steamboat owners. There are over 900 members of the SBA, in over 20 countries around the world, who own over 400 working steam boats.
The SBA is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of its foundation at a special Rally on Windermere in August 2021.
Come and see boats decked out in bunting moored along the jetties and meet their wonderful owners who come dressed in period costume for an authentic experience. The boats will then join Windermere Jetty Museum's much-loved Steam Launch Osprey (pictured) on a celebratory parade towards Ambleside.
Location: Windermere Jetty Museum, Cumbria
Date: Saturday 7th August, 12.00- 16.00pm. FREE
