Festival of Chatham Reach

Location: Sun Pier House, Sun Pier, Medway Street, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4HF

The Festival of Chatham Reach is a laid back family event where visitors can explore a range of river craft from Thames barges to steam tugs, in addition to a range of shore based events including live music, markets and activities.

The Festival of Chatham Reach is a celebration of the maritime influence on shaping this distinctive part of the Medway Towns.

Visitors will be able to take a river trip aboard 1906 Thames sailing barge Edith May, explore a working steam tug and stand on the deck of authentic 1908 Whitstable oyster smack Thistle.

Shipwrights will demonstrate their skills on the shore side as they demonstrate how to build a clinker boat.
