Calling all voice actors ... would you like to contribute to the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre's new project and earn £50 in the process? If so, take a look and get in touch.

The team are currently working on a project funded by the Arts Council England’s Cultural Recovery Fund. They aim to update some of the display areas at Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre and are looking for local actors to help us to create some audio content for our QR code interactive.

They are looking for nine male and two female actors to record a short audio performance as the following characters: Third Hand, Ship’s Mate, Ship’s Cook, Deck Hand, Chief Engineer, Second Engineer, Skipper, Trimmer, Wireless Operator, Barmaid and Housewife. Scripts and guidance will be provided but we also encourage you to use your own experience and skills to bring the characters to life.

Depending on lockdown restrictions, recording may take place at the Heritage Centre or participants may wish to record their performance at home. Recording equipment will be provided.

If you think you can help, or know someone who can, they would be delighted to hear from you. To arrange a friendly Microsoft Teams meeting and script reading. Please contact them at this email address; louise.bowen@nelincs.gov.uk.

The closing date is Monday 8th March 2021 and informal interviews take between 15th and 19th March. Selections will be made by 26th March and completed performances required by 25th April.
