Lakeland Arts Windermere Jetty Museum are very excited for you to see their latest acquisition: Merlin!

Merlin is a ‘Windermere 17’ and is the first boat of this class to join their collection.  Their name comes from their size - Merlin measures an incredible 17 feet at its waterline and cuts an imposing figure in the Boathouse!

First raced in 1904, the current fleet of Windermere 17 racing yachts comprises of yachts aged between 8 and 100 years of age.

Built in 1908, it is possible that Merlin is the oldest Windermere 17 still on the water.  Lakeland Arts are very grateful to the kind donor who generously gave Merlin to the Jetty Museum, so that visitors can enjoy seeing this special boat for years to come.
