Waverley’s Senior Master and General Manager recently visited Southend Pier and met with pier officials who have confirmed that Waverley will have full access to the pier at all states of the tide. During the 2017-18 seasons access to the pier was restricted to high water calls which decreased the number of sailings Waverley could operate from the world famous pier.
Southend Pier is a crucial calling point for the Thames programme and we are delighted that the pier is receiving significant investment. Southend is the longest pleasure pier in the world and will receive an investment of £17 million over the next few years. The pier’s trains will be replaced as part of the programme of works.
Waverley’s 2020 Thames sailings will operate from September 25 until October 11 2020.
