ANGLIA was built in 1898 at London. Built by Horace Shrubshall her first owners wereEdward Alfred Hibbs, Brighlingsea (sail maker 32 shares) and Geroge Newman, Great Bentley, Essex.
On rear of original ceritificate of registry are the stamps of the various masters inlcuing A E Gunn, H F Booth, F C Ling and Frank Leek. Frederick Ling is shown as last master on 29 September 1956. George Newman died on 19 July 1927 appointing his widow Annie Thorne Newman and Walter Stanley Newman as executors. On the 8th June 1928 George Newman's 32 shares are sold to George Ventris, Great Wakering, Essex (master mariner).
Sold on 20 September 1940 to R & W Paul Limited, Ipswich, signed by Herbert Hearfield Oxley, Company Secretary. Sold to various other owners from then onwards.
