Facilities Manager
Salary (Grade 5) – £28,554 – £30,504 per annum (dependent upon experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - permanent
Location: The National Museum of the Royal Navy, Maritime Avenue, Hartlepool.

The National Museum of the Royal Navy is the UK’s newest national Museum. We are recruiting for an experienced Facilities Manager working within the Operations team based at our Hartlepool site. This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in caring for Hartlepool’s Historic Quay and HMS Trincomalee, helping to ensure the NMRN’s visitors have a safe, extraordinary and enriching day out. You will be responsible for the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance works. With a positive attitude and ability to manage and motivate volunteers, you will work collaboratively with other diverse teams across the museum.

A flexible approach to work is needed as occasional out-of-hours work/call outs will occur.

Key Opportunities

Knowledge/Experience

• Strong Facilities Management background with competence to undertake ‘hands on’ minor repairs and maintenance.
• Experience of working with Facilities Management software.
• Practical experience of Health and Safety and producing risk assessments.
• Experience of safe working at height, maintenance of access registers and mobile access equipment.
• Experience working with the public and having a customer centric approach to completing repairs in a busy environment.
• Experience of procurement and management of contractors is essential.
• Knowledge of the legal framework for controlling risks such as fire, asbestos and legionella.
