The Slipway Co-operative Ltd

The Slipway Co-operative was involved in restoring the historic Underfall Yard and has since been managing the slipping of vessels. We have worked on a wide range of different boats, in repairs, restorations and new-builds, like the new stern windows of Brunel's SS 'Great Britain', restoration of fine classic yachts like Uffa Fox's 22 sq. m.

'Vigilant', repairs and maintenance of Bristol's ferry boats, converted trawlers and the like, but also the build of a new 32' Cornish Pilot Gig and other small dingies. Yacht joinery is an essential part of our work. Whereas our main work involves traditional boat building skills and materials, we are not averse to using modern wood/epoxy techniques when appropriate. Occupying part of the buildings in the yard we can offer under cover facilities up to 50', whereas the uncovered slipway itself can accommodate vessels up to 180 tons.
