History

The vessel has most recently been known as Seamill and is an Admiralty Coaster built by Pollock at Faversham in 1943.  Until last year she was substantially as-built, including the engine.  She was purchased at Whitton Marine and moved to Medway Bridge Marina Rochester where she has since been substantially modified, losing her wheelhouse superstructure and gaining a large shed, her hull appears unaltered.

She was commissioned as a ‘ Self-Propelled Stores lighter’ for harbour and estuary services, official no: 169790, Built by Pollocks at Faversham in 1943 and registered with the Admiralty, as C616, part of The Royal Fleet Auxiliary. She was initially based at Chatham, carrying stores to London for ASNUK ( Australia & New Zealand Defence Force ) for shipment via Ben & Skindia Line ships. She may be the last vessel of this kind in existence.

Until around 2019 she was substantially as-built, including the engine. She was purchased at Whitton Marine and moved to Medway Bridge Marina Rochester where she has since been substantially modified, losing her wooden wheelhouse, deckhouse superstructure, foremast and derrick, and gaining a large timber domestic structure with interior alterations unknown. Her hull however appears unaltered.
