DAISY was one of the first Wyvern boats to be purpose built for hire and the first of many to be built by Graham Parker. The steel hull was built by Graham Parker of Norton Canes in 1969. The hull was towed to the Wyvern Shipping Company at Linslade in December 1969. Wyvern then built the wooden cabin, fitted out the interior and fitted the Lister SR2 engine. She was then ready to go out as a hire boat (along with her sister boat BUTTERCUP) at Easter 1970. It is understood that they were the first two boats that Wyvern had specially built for the leisure hire trade. Previously they had hired out converted working boats.
Wyvern then sold DAISY to a private owner in 1979. In 1981/1982 DAISY was sold to Mrs Di Barker of Saffron Walden, who the current owner bought her from in 1987. At that time, DAISY was permanently moored on private moorings at Yelvertoft, but since 1994 her permanent mooring has been at Crick Wharf, on the Leicester Line of the Grand Union Canal.
Since 1994, DAISY has been regularly maintained. In 1994, the engine was rebuilt by Jono Hewitt at Union Canal Carriers, Braunston. In 2014, the hull base plate was overplated at 4All Marine, Chertsey. DAISY has undergone occasional repairs to the steel work, which have been carried out by Roger Farringdon at Braunston Boats. In the summer of 2020, the entire wooden cabin was removed and re-built by Neil Stittle, Stittle Boat Services, Crick. The outline shape and colour scheme remain as per the original. DAISY also currently holds a Boat Safety Scheme certificate.
