History

LUTRA PARVA  was built in 1967 by Dobson Boat builders in Yorkshire. She is constructed from wood - oak, mahogany and teak. She retains her original look both outside and inside. Outside, she remains as original, with original windows, doors, deck and lights including light casings. Her engine and all mechanics are original. She retains her original steering wheel and original propulsion mechanics. Comparing her to photos taken in 1967, the only change is the cabin is blue not white/yellow. The hull remains as original, it is varnished, not painted. Lutra Parva was taken out of water summer 2022. She had her hull sanded back to wood.

Her condition is superb. Internally, the same is true. There have been no structural changes or alterations on her. The fixed furniture (day-bed, cupboards, wardrobe etc) are mahogany and original. All furniture retains original cupboard handles etc. All light fittings, all light shades(glass) including the light switches, are original. She has been re-wired and plumbing - but again they do not detract in any way from the original aesthetics of LUTRA PARVA - she looks as she was built. All doors are original (including door handles), and as built. The floor remains the same - mahogany planks.

This vessel was purchased by A Bradley around 2014. He put her in dry dock at Semmington Dock Marina, Kennet & Avon, where the renovations took place. These renovations were undertaken by experts in their field including working with outside agencies in London to ensure exact work was achieved. Indeed, a 4 page feature on her appeared in Canal World. The article discussed the teams of experts engaged in the project, especially when working on the hull.

LUTRA PARVA was previously used as a weekend/ holiday boat. To the best of my knowledge, Her current owner lives onboard and is a continual cruiser.  All repairs are noticed and dealt with immediately, ensuring tip top condition of the vessel. She was built 'to exacting standards' for a Harley Street surgeon, taken to London, raced around the coast and later kept on Kennet and Avon canal.
