History

TETHRA is a 36 ft long traditional Cornish fishing boat. She was originally built in Looe in 1971 by Curtis and Pape to longline for mackerel and possibly even shark around the local area. Tethra also worked as a triper boat, with her then skipper Ivan, taking people out to fish around the shores of south Cornwall. She worked up until the late 80's and eventually made her way up to Chichester where her current owners found her.

She has since had an extensive rebuild, with much of the pine planking and oak framing above the waterline being replaced, refastening throughout, a new deck and wheelhouse along with a new engine amongst many other things. This means that we have had a fantastic blank canvas to create the perfect dining space whilst keeping as much of the original character and aesthetic as possible.

Now based in Cornwall as a passenger vessel.

Key dates

  • 2023-03-05 Tethra is currently out of the water for the winter. We start the yearly maintence in March every year so she is ready to go back in the water mid April 2023 to start her 5th season in her current form, once again working on Cornish waters.
