History

MV MAID OF THE FIRTH was built between 1966 and 1968 by Timbacraft Ltd. of Shandon, Argyll and Bute. Originally for Caledonian MacBrayne as a passenger ferry, the order was cancelled before she was finished, and she ended up being purchased by N Johnson of Oban, Argyll and Bute.

Her original ferry route was between Oban, Mull and Torosay Castle, and later she would land at Duart Castle and do trips to the local seal colony. Recently, she has been refitted and is now being surveyed so she may continue her services as a passenger vessel.
