History

TARA ROSE was built in 1970 by Samuel Springer in his workshops at Market Harborough, Leicestershire. She was built with the aim of bringing affordable boating to UK waterways and was originally a part of the hire boat fleet of Planck Burrett Marine, Harlow, Essex, being predominately used on the Rivers Lea and Stort.

Her current owner has owned TARA ROSE for the last three decades and regularly enters her in Historic Boat Parades, having been part of the Queen's Jubilee Flotilla in 2012. Her interior fittings remain very largely unchanged, and her exterior is as originally left by Samuel Springer. She also retains a squared stern and simple folded steel roof plates.
