History

MARBURY was built circa 1900 as a towed icebreaker and was used on the Shropshire Union Canal. Her hull is carvel built with oak frames and planking covered with sheet metal. The vessel was recued from the Prees Branch of the Llangollen Canal by the Shropshire Union Canal Society. Now based at The Boat Museum at Ellesmere Port, MARBURY is in good condition having been rebuilt with a new deck in 1998.
