Tough Surveys Ltd was set up by John Tough in 2006 to provide pre-purchase boat surveys, condition surveys, insurance surveys and valuations.

John works with boats constructed from wood, steel and glass fibre. John is London based but will travel UK-wide. John has worked in the marine industry since 1991, and has a Diploma in Yacht & Boatyard Management (Southampton Institute of Higher Education) and a Diploma in Small Craft Surveying (Lloyds Maritime Academy).

John previously worked for the historic family boat build and repair business (Tough Brothers Ltd and Tough's Boatyard Ltd) for 15 years.  As such, John is also experienced in project management and provides a consultancy service, working as an owner's representative for boat re-fits.
