Built by J H Cann of Harwich in 1904 for T and H Tunnidge of Leigh-on-Sea for £167 complete with sails. She first entered the fishing register on the 7th of July 1904 named TWO BROTHERS with the fishing number LO184.
On the 16th of July 1914 ownership was changed to T Tunnidge as the sole owner and the boat was named HILDA MARJORIE after the owner’s daughter. The story goes that the two brothers split up over a family argument about the spelling of their second name.
In 1926 HILDA MARJORIE transferred to Rochester under the number RR8 and new owner F B Wadhams, who used her for shrimping. At this point, she had also acquired an auxiliary engine.
K Markhan bought HILDA MARJORIE in 1983 from the Wadhams family, and the following year she was sold to C Eagles. In her ownership, a near complete restoration was carried out, replacing everything but 1/3 of the framing and the beamshelves. She was also fitted with a new rig following her original design.
Her current owner bought her in August 2023 from C Eagles.
