Maritime Heritage Festival and Flotilla 2025
Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August

Organised by Rescue Wooden Boats, the Maritime Heritage Festival is the essence of what the charity aims to do - bringing together the historic local working boats afloat, together with the families who built and worked them, and tell their stories.

In 2023 there were 21 boats, close to the maximum of these boats remaining afloat.  Last year 25 boats joined the flotilla. Those that came to the event enjoyed history in action afloat. A display of beautiful wooden 20th century fishing boats, unique to this coast  - and their stories; a spectacular flotilla when all the boats processed to the harbour mouth and back watched by many hundreds of people.

Onshore maritime themed entertainment including live music, food, drink, stalls, demonstrations and activities for children.

The Flotilla will depart at 12.00 on Saturday and return to shanty singing.
