SHIP AHOY! Scotland’s Maritime Heritage Exhibition

A family event enjoying a walk down memory lane with memorabilia, postcards, photographs, artefacts, slide shows & books. Over thirty model steamers and other vessels outside on the water & inside along with many stands from the world of shipping celebrating Scotland’s Maritime heritage, from the Clyde to the Western Isles.

This is the ninth Ship Ahoy! Exhibition in its ten-year history and the Museum is pleased to welcome it back to Irvine. The Museum is open for FREE on this day and although you won’t get the full museum experience, you will get to see most exhibits and inside the ‘a new temporary exhibition’.

Scottish Boatbuilding School

On the same day as the Ship Ahoy, we will also be running FREE behind the scenes tours of the Scottish Boatbuilding school. Tours will be running at 11.30am, 1pm and 2pm, with 12 spaces on each tour. Booking is made on a first come, first served basis at the front desk on the day. The Scottish Boatbuilding school is not generally open to the public, so mark the date in your diary to take advantage of these FREE tours for one day only!
