Shipshape Network East Hub Event
At Pioneer Sailing Trust, Harker’s Yard, Brightlingsea
Saturday 7th November 10am-3pm
This year NHS-UK will be hosting our Shipshape Network East Hub event in collaboration with our Hub partner Pioneer Sailing Trust on Saturday 7th November 2026.
This event is an exciting opportunity to bring together all those with an interest in our rich maritime heritage from across the region.
Whether you are a heritage organisation, vessel custodian, local business, volunteer group, student or just love all things maritime, we have an exciting programme of speakers lined up, including:
SPEAKERS:
- Essex Heritage Workboats
- T.S Traditional Rigging Services
- The Sutton Hoo Ships Company
- Thames Sailing Barge Trust
Followed in the afternoon by a tour of Pioneer CK18, a 70ft Essex fishing Smack built in 1864 and restored by the Trust in 2005. She went on to have new life as a sail training boat and is now an essential part of the Trust’s wider mission to facilitate learning opportunities through maritime experiences. There will also be a chance to see the purpose-built training facility for young people wishing to enter the marine industry.
This day offers an excellent opportunity to share knowledge, collaborate and connect with the local maritime community.
Tea coffee and a light buffet are provided.
Tickets are £8.30 each and cover all presentations, lunch, refreshments, and tours.
