History

ZAIRE was built in 1936 by Hugh McLean & Son at Govan and is a gentleman's motor cruiser of timber carvel construction with a BMC Commander 2.2 diesel engine. Her original owner was Robert Barr Jnr. Around 1939 she was owned by ASH Whitelock. Later owners of date unspecified were Mr & Mrs Derriman followed by Mr Michael Thorpe. Under current ownership since 2016.

Used as a liveaboard at Brighton Marina in the last few years, the vessel is now in storage in Stourport-on-Severn as the owner has moved abroad.
