History

SEMPER VIGILO was built specifically for the City of Glasgow Police and is a launch of mahogany construction with a Morris twin screw engine. She was launched in 1934 by the Chief of the City of Glasgow Police. The signatures of two Kings and of Winston Churchill are recorded in the vessel's log book and she served as a police launch for over 40 years. In 2009, she was in need of substantial restoration. It is hoped that SEMPER VIGILO will have a role in the development of the new City of Glasgow maritime museum.
