History

MERMAID worked from Sutton Bridge (Kings Lynn) most of her life as a shrimper.  She finished her working life on the seal cull in the Wash, after being set on fire by animal activists.  She was then sold and brought to the Thames estuary and rebuilt.  Since then she has been used for racing in the local regattas.

In January 2021 MERMAID was bought by a new owner, and returned to her home port of King's Lynn for restoration. She was restored by Fosdyke Yacht Haven, Boston, Lincolnshire, and as of January 2024 is back in the water after an extensive renovation. MERMAID is now back in her home where she belongs, perfectly built and designed for the narrow channels of the Wash and the Norfolk Coast.
