WHALE II was built as a Steam Pinnace, it is thought in 1912. The exact date and the builders are being researched by the present owner who purchased the vessel in 2014 as a research project for conversion to a liveaboard.

She is a vessel of iron riveted construction and her present engine is a Perkins diesel.
