History

The A37 was built in 1932 by W J Yarwood & Sons Ltd. in Northwich, Cheshire, as part of a fleet of eight. A37 and her sister ships were used to carry cargo on the Manchester Ship Canal, between Manchester and Liverpool. She is the last surviving vessel of her fleet – the last one apart from A37 was destroyed in a bombing during the 2nd World War.

Around 1985, she was turned into a living boat, and her last maintenance work had been in 1999. In 2022, she was purchased by her current owner, who began a reconstruction project for A37.
