Training

These year long Diploma Courses are delivered by distance learning. All courses lead to a Bsc and MSc in Maritime Studies. Diploma in Cargo Surveying, Diploma in Marine Industry Surveying, Diploma in Yacht & Small Craft Surveying, Diploma in Marine Engineering Surveying, Second Level Diploma Course leading to a BSc (Hons).

The Regional Resource Centre (RRC) is based at City College's Marine Skills Centre at Woolston, Southampton. The Centre is centrally located at the centre of the south's marine activity and it's presence has made a positive and significant contribution to the regions marine businesses.

The RRC is a central point for a wealth of available expertise, providing industry-driven training for companies, current students and tutors across the southeast region. This pool of expertise is available for all marine based engineering, design & manufacturing companies region.

The primary aim of the Marine Skills Centres is to address the real needs of the large number of small and micro-businesses that make up the sector by providing innovative, dedicated and demand-led marine training services and facilities. As a first step, each Marine Skills Centre is working with ‘prime’ industrial partners who require the initial throughput of training to get the business started.
