Course: Beginner's Woodwork
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Get into woodwork or expand your skills with this five day course that takes you through setting solid foundations, tool sharpening and maintenance, wood selection and preparation. On this practical course you‘ll cover some basic joints such as mitres, halvings, and mortise & tenons. We will provide all the tools you will need to learn the skills and produce joints of your own to include tool sharpening, marking out, sawing, planing, chiselling and joint cutting You’ll learn how to sharpen your tools, how to select timber and practice some basic joinery with the option to make your own picture frame to take away.
If you are thinking about joining a short course we are always happy to discuss which course or series of courses are appropriate for you. Unless specified, you will not need to bring anything else with you. Sensible clothing/footwear is advised.
The first day the course starts at 0900.
After the first day all courses run to the normal workshop times of: 0830 to 1730
- Tea breaks at 1030 and 1530
- Lunch 1300 to 1400
- 1530 on the last day
