WHITSTABLE HERITAGE BOAT-BUILDING CENTRE
Saturday 9 August, Whitstable Harbour, Kent.
Aim:
To demonstrate the crafts of the Shipwright, Rigger & Sail-maker; to assist school leavers wishing to enter the industry; to advise where those wishing to build, or partly build, their own wooden craft can obtain advice and access to facilities; and to promote boat-building in the local economy
Facility:
A 30 x 10 ft metal-frame marquee with electric power and cold refreshments, located within a secure compound that includes space for boat trailers, standing boats, and their towing vehicles. There are also opportunities for a sea-launch, off the beach or a slipway.
