New partnership sought for Irene of Bridgwater

The owners of 1907 ketch Irene are getting the vessel prepared for sea and she will be ready by April.  However, the charity they were working with recently closed its doors, leaving the ship facing some financial headwinds.  They are therefore looking for a new direction for Irene

If you or your organisation have a proposal, they would love to hear from you.

The ship currently operates traditional sailing voyages around the West Country, the Scilly Isles and the West Coast of Scotland.  If you’ve sailed other Tall Ships, you might be in for a surprise when you first climb on board. From the private en-suite cabins to the commercial standard galley, no expense has been spared to give guests a first class experience.

They are not seeking a new owner, but are looking to reduce the family's burden of running the vessel, whilst keeping her sailing.  While the family will continue to support the ship, they are hoping to find an organisation that might want to work Irene in a way that is sustainable, allowing her to be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

Please email them if you are interested.
