Name Lady Agnes

LADY AGNES was built in 1922 by Camper & Nicholson Ltd Gosport.  Built as a tender for A R Stephenson.  She was later sold to Major Sir Derrick Gunston in1928/9 who had kept her until his death in 1970’s  It was then passed to his wife who sold it to M Campbell.  In 1994 she was sold to her current owner.

She was re-engined 2010 (petrol, as per previous engines). LADY AGNES was one of the first of a series of GELYCE tenders designed/built by Camper & Nicholsons in Gosport. Three sizes were built, the two smaller with one screw; the largest with two (turned out to be less manoeuvrable having only one rudder). She was one of the first and smallest size. The Gelyces, with no keel, are not suited to being used offshore and, with no roof, are 'wet' to drive, even on calm water.  Based in Cowes for most of her life.
