Invitation for historic vessels

The Canal & River Trust are supporting offering free berthing for historic vessels as part of the UK Maritime Heritage Forum being held in Liverpool this September.  As the charity who care for the historic Liverpool South Docks, they are keen to welcome historic vessels to visit the waterfront for this exciting weekend.  Historic vessels can berth in Salthouse Dock, Albert Dock or Canning Docks (depending on type of vessel).

5 berths are reserved in Salthouse Dock for inland waterway vessels who would like to join in the event.  Please check the skipper’s guide for full information about facilities at the docks and the dimensions of suitable craft to berth in Salthouse Dock and enter the docks from the Liverpool Canal Link.  Larger sea-going craft (up to 60.00m in length) can be accommodated in Canning Dock.  Due to tides, vessels would need to enter the docks from the River Mersey arriving from Monday 18 September, and would only be able to leave after Wednesday 27 September (subject to maximum draft).  Canning River Entrance only operates on spring tides.  If you are interested in visiting the waterfront for the event, or would like more information, please contact James Long, Engagement Manager at james.long@canalrivertrust.org.uk.   This is a fantastic opportunity to bring the historic Liverpool South Docks to life with historic vessels, and to engage with visitors from the local area and beyond.
