Emergency crowdfunding appeal!

From Britannia Sailing Trust on Facebook:

On 24 September 2023, we hit a major milestone…Having not touched water in 10 years, Britannia was launched in Exeter Heritage Harbour.

But Britannia's story is far from over.

Our restoration efforts cost an average of £10,000 per month. With funding set to run out in October and our usual fundraising avenues running dry, things are looking a bit precarious for the rest of this year.

Without funding, we will be unable to continue to the restoration, pay our young boatbuilding trainees or retain our staff. We may even have to abandon the project if funding is not found.

We are doing everything we can to keep things afloat. With Britannia inches away from completion, we are so close to getting her sailing again - enabling her to generate her own income and become self-sufficient.

We have all the materials ready to re-rig the ship with her masts and spars and fit her out down below in preparation for sea-trials, but there are still many expenses to be paid - mainly the wages of the skilled boatbuilders and their young trainees, who support our volunteers.

We don't like to ask much of the people who support us - but we want to offer you this important opportunity to support Britannia at a difficult time and one of the most pivotal moments in her rich history.

You can donate to our emergency crowdfunder via the link in our bio or below, and we hope you will.

We know everyone wants to see Britannia sailing again as much as we do and we believe that together we can make it happen! We've come too far to abandon ship now.
