History
CAPREOLUS is a Bermudan yawl of carvel construction, mahogany on oak with a Beta Marine diesel engine. She was built by R A Newman & Sons of Hamworthy, Poole for Sir John Power Bt. to a design that was inspired by the famous Sparkman and Stephens yacht FINESTERRE. In 1966 she passed into the ownership of Major D V Bonsor who was a member of the Royal Yacht Squadron and therefore wore the white ensign for the next ten years. In 1986 she was bought by two brothers who made considerable efforts to bring her back to a good condition but in 2002 she was sold again and allowed to fall into neglect. She was bought in 2008 by her present owner and is now undergoing a full restoration.
