History

POEM 20 was built by Hunt & Fowler, Hull, as a Humber Lighter in 1899.  She was initially named NOVELLO and it is believed she was built for the OCO steam tug at Selby Mill.  She spent most of her working life carrying grain. Sometime around the 1940s she had an engine installed.  In the 1960s she was sold out of commercial use.  Under current ownership she has been undergoing restoration.

Update, May 2025: Vessel for sale.
