History

OLIVER TWIST, a general service launch, was built by the British Power Boat company and launched in 1946 at Hythe. Her first service was with the Royal Army Service Corps as a training vessel for the Royal Naval Reserve (HMS PRESIDENT, London). OLIVER TWIST was the last ship of the Dickens Class put out of service in 1996 and underwent maintenance work between 1998 and 1999.

OLIVER TWIST has been under current ownership since 2008. She is moored in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands, and is undergoing extensive restoration with the aim of converting her to a motor yacht. Both Foden engines from 1956 are still present and working. She has been renamed TIMBER.
