History

DRONE is a Ranger 36 Class motor yacht, built in 1973 by Northshore Yachts LTD of Itchenor, West Sussex. The Ranger 36, designed by Carey Golesworthy, was an innovative motor cruiser known for its blend of robust, offshore capabilities and comfortable, stylish design. Its primary innovations centred on its distinct centred wheelhouse layout, semi-displacement hull, and quality GRP construction, which created a safe and spacious vessel. 26 Ranger 36 yachts were built between 1969 and 1982, each powered with twin diesel Ford Sabre engines.

DRONE was originally known as WHITWOOD RANGER, until 1983. She was based in Swanwick on the Hamble at least between 1982 and 1996. She has been in the same ownership since 1996, based out of Rochester and cruising regularly throughout the south and east coasts of England. She is maintained in its original condition, with her original engines and layout still present. Her original build quality and design contribute to her good condition and continuous service.
