Name Guide Me

GUIDE ME was built by Pearns of Looe in 1973 and originally named SUSAN JANE.  She was built for Andrew Lakeman the famous fish merchant and named after his wife and daughter. Fitted with a perkins p6 main engine and a small engine on a wing drive she was registered for long-lining out of Megavissey under the registry number FY330 and successfully fished through the 70s into mid 80s when she was sold to Newquay and renamed BONITA ANNE. 

She fished out of Newquay and Padstow until the early 90s before being sold on and making the long journey north to she was converted to fish lobster pots and run angling charters. There she was renamed GUIDE ME under the registration number BK312 and was re-engined with a brand-new Ford mermaid 4 cylinder. 

She ran from Seahouses for many years and was very popular among holidaymakers and professional anglers alike up until 2016 when the sad passing of her owner A Dawson seen her sold into private hands and moved to the river Tyne. The new owner took over ownership of her September 2025 and after extensive restoration works and is hoping to put her back into commercial work once again running pleasure trips and sightseeing trips on the river.
