History

VICTORIOUS is a shrimping smack of wooden carvel construction built by Worfolk Brothers of Kings Lynn  in 1923 and was fitted with a Perkins 4236 diesel engine fitted in 1963. her new engine is Beta Marine 50 hp engine

This vessel first registered as a fishing vessel, LN196, around 1923. She fished from Kings Lynn for decades before being abandoned around 1986. After being resurrected by her current owner in 1998 she was subject to an extensive rebuild which was completed in 2005.

As of February 2019 she was reported to be under new private ownership with the vessel in Penryn due to undergo a further refit.

Her refit was completed in April 2023, with a new counter stern matching her original design of 1923. She is configured with an open hold – so back as a working vessel. Many new frames, planking, new deck and spars. Her sails will be fitted by North Sea Sails. On 27 Oct 2023 there will be a small ceremony by the Kings Lynn Mayor, launching the next phase of her working life. She is currently in Fosdyke.

She is currently operated by the Coastal Exploration Company, based in Wells- Next-the Sea, Norfolk and will be available to Charter from summer 2024.
