History

GADWALL OF BRUNDALL was built in 1968 by Robin Fisher of Brundall, Norfolk. She is built of iroko planks on oak frames and is a composite build, with clinker topsides and carvel planks under the water line, and is based on larger 60ft MFV designs Fisher had seen in North America. She is fitted with a 1959 Bolinder Munktell 1054 inboard diesel engine. The super structure is a pilot house Ketch with wheel steering, and she has a hard chime below the waterline.

GADWALL was owned by her builder for 16 years as a liveaboard vessel. After this point, not much is known about the vessel’s history. In 2004, she was purchased in the Mediterranean and brought back to the UK. Her current owner purchased the vessel in 2006 in Brixham, and she is currently based in Exeter.
